SunTrust Bank CD Rates

We here at Internet Banking 411 look at SunTrust quite often and today, we thought we’d looked at certificate of deposit accounts there as well.

CD rates at SunTrust Bank are at par with the national average though they are relatively higher in the upper end of investment limits. CD rates are calculated by taking into account a number of factors including past economic factors, current financial conditions and general market standards. Following CD rates are calculated for the fixed rate investment option that allows customers to continue receiving the same profits irrespective of market changes and fluctuations. A 5-year CD is currently the highest investment term offered by the company.

SunTrust CD rates for a 10-month traditional CD are currently priced at an APY of around 0.80%. A no penalty CD, however, yields a lower APY at 0.80%.

SunTrust CD rates for a 32 month CD are currently estimated at 2.00% APY and a 59 months CD returns an APY of 3.00%.

Minimum opening balance of these CD accounts is $2,000. CD rates are accurate as of January 19, 2010 and are subject to change in case of market fluctuations, bank regulations and other factors. Additional information is available from the company website. SunTrust also operates a 24/7 assistance centre. Online assistance is also available as there is a chatting system in place where customers and potential customers can interact with company representatives.

Money market investments are available besides the certificates of deposit, including general savings accounts. IRA CD investment options are also available with their APY slightly higher than the general investment plans.
